Philadelphia 76ers at Denver Basketball Betting

November 30, 2010 NBA Basketball

Basketball betting could be interesting on Sunday as Allen Iverson plays against his old team.

Iverson faced the Nuggets in the past when he played for Detroit but it is still special for him when he returns to Denver. The Nuggets are heavily favored in NBA betting odds against the 76ers in this matchup on Sunday.

Basketball betting has seen Denver win 7 of the last 10 games against Philadelphia. The Nuggets are 7-3 against the NBA betting odds in those games.  The one advantage the 76ers will have in this game is that Denver had to play last night at Utah.  Denver won at Philadelphia last month by a score of 93-83 as seven-point basketball betting favorites.  Denver has actually had more success on the road against the Sixers than at home in basketball betting.  Denver has won three of the last five at home against Philadelphia but they are just 2-3 against the basketball betting line.  The last two games between the two teams have gone under the NBA betting total while the previous two went over.

If you are going to make a wager on Philadelphia in basketball betting then the time to do it is when they are on the road. The 76ers are the worst team in the league versus the NBA betting number at home but on the road they are pretty good. Philadelphia is over .500 on the road in basketball betting and they have a chance to cover this game against Denver on Sunday.  Allen Iverson may be a ball hog but he does provide some scoring for Philadelphia.  He gives them a third scoring option who can impact basketball betting results behind Andre Iguodala and Elton Brand.

Denver has not played well of late but at least at home they have a winning record in basketball betting.  The Nuggets are 9-6 at home versus the basketball betting line this season.  Early in the season it looked like Denver could be one of the best teams in the Western Conference but in recent games they look like just another team that will lose to the Lakers.  Carmelo Anthony has been carrying Denver offensively as he is averaging over 30 points per game.  The Nuggets are 3rd in the league in offense but their defense has struggled for much of this basketball betting year and that is why they are not yet an elite team.
