Orlando will feel the Heat, ready for a basketball bet?

November 30, 2010 NBA Basketball

A basketball bet that will be highlighted will be the one on Thursday as the Miami Heat hosts the Orlando Magic in a game that can be seen on TNT.

The Magic have done well recently against the Heat in basketball betting but this particular situation doesn’t necessarily favor them.  Here is a look at this prime time matchup between the Magic and Heat.

Fans that made a basketball bet last night saw the Magic playing at home against San Antonio so this is a back-to-back for the Magic. What helps them somewhat is that they don’t have to travel far for this game.  It is the first game of a three-game road trip for Orlando.  The Magic have won 7 of the last 10 against the Heat and they are 5-4-1 against the basketball bet pointspread.  The Magic and Heat have met three times this season and the Heat have actually won two of those three for those making a basketball bet.  The teams split the two games in Orlando while the Heat won 104-86 in Miami. Two of the three games this season went under the total. Even though Miami won earlier this season at home, they have lost six of the last eight overall at home against the Magic.

Orlando is 17-16-1 on the road this season for those making a basketball bet.  The Magic have been going under the total a lot in their road games. 23 of their 34 road games have gone under.  Orlando has a defense that is fourth best in the NBA so it makes some sense that their road games go under.  Orlando can also score though as they are 11th in the league led by Dwight Howard who scores almost 19 per game.

Miami has played much better in recent weeks but their level of competition is suspect.  Wins over the 76ers, Clippers, Bulls and Warriors doesn’t say a whole lot.  A win here at home against the Magic would make a statement. Miami looks to have gotten out of the danger zone in regards to making the playoffs so now they will try and improve their seeding. They could easily end up 7th and have to face Orlando in the first round so this could be a playoff preview.

This should be an exciting game in basketball betting between two teams that have superstar players. The Magic have Dwight Howard while the Heat have Dwyane Wade.
