Lakers vs. Magic NBA Betting on Sunday, March 7

November 30, 2010 NBA Basketball

NBA betting features an NBA Finals rematch from last season as the Orland Magic host the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday in a game that can be seen on ABC.

It is the last game of a three-game trip for the Lakers.  Orlando has not had much success against the Lakers in this basketball betting series.

NBA betting has the Magic at 11-31 all-time vs. the Lakers.  The Magic went 2-0 last regular season against the Lakers but lost in five games in the Finals. The Magic have lost 16 of the last 22 games in this series and eight of the last 11 at home. The Lakers won the first meeting this season in Los Angeles 98-92 as Shannon Brown had a career-high 22 points. Pau Gasol tallied 17 points and 10 rebounds, while Kobe Bryant had just 11 points. Dwight Howard led the Magic with 24 points and 12 rebounds.

Against the NBA betting odds, the teams have split their last ten games.  Even though the Magic lost at Los Angeles earlier this season they did cover the 6.5 point number.  The Magic won the regular season game in Orlando last season against the Lakers by a score of 106-103 in basketball betting.  Six of the last seven in this series have gone under the NBA betting total.

Los Angeles may have the best record in the Western Conference but they have not been that good against the basketball betting line. They have a losing record at home and on the road vs. the NBA betting odds.  The Lakers have a lot of positive stats as they are in the Top 10 in scoring and in defense but they are overvalued in basketball betting and simply are not a good bet much of the time.

The Magic have been solid at home this season against the NBA betting odds. They are 17-13 against the basketball betting line in home games. Orlando has similar numbers to Los Angeles although their offense is not quite as good.  Kobe Bryant is the difference and he is why the Lakers are a slightly better team than the Magic.

This should be a popular NBA betting contest since it is on ABC television and is a rematch of last year’s finals.  The Lakers are a public team and will get some action but the Magic should also get some play since they are at home in this game.
