Orlando Magic at Cleveland – Basketball Betting

November 30, 2010 NBA Basketball

Basketball betting odds on Thursday favor the Cleveland Cavaliers at home against the Orlando Magic in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

The Magic lead this best-of-seven series 3-1 and could eliminate the Cavaliers with a win on Thursday.  NBA Playoffs odds favor the Cavaliers in this game but the basketball betting trends surely do not.

Basketball betting trends are with Orlando in this matchup against Cleveland.  The Magic have simply owned the Cavaliers of late, winning 7 of the last 10 straight up and covering the basketball betting pointspread in nine of those ten games.  Even though the Cavaliers have only won a single game in this series, they are 7.5 point favorites in NBA Playoffs odds for Game 5.  The Cavaliers have gotten more than 40 point from LeBron James on a regular basis in this playoff series, yet they are down three games to one.  The Magic have simply had more balance to go along with All-Star Dwight Howard.

This basketball betting matchup can be seen on TNT television on Thursday.  Gamblers might want to consider the Magic yet again in NBA Playoffs odds.  The Magic are 4-0 against the NBA Playoffs odds in their last 4 playoff games as an underdog. The Magic are 17-6 against the basketball betting odds in their last 23 games as a road underdog. The Magic are 7-0 against the sports betting odds in the last 7 meetings in Cleveland.

Cleveland does have some good overall basketball betting numbers but against Orlando, none of them seem to matter.  The Cavaliers are 14-4-1 against the sportsbook number in their last 19 playoff games as a favorite. Cleveland is normally a very good home favorite going 36-16 against the sportsbook odds in their last 52 games.

Looking at the sports betting total we see that the five of the last seven games for the Magic against the NBA Central Division have gone over the total.   That is somewhat opposite of their overall trends though as 23 of Orlando’s last 34 games have gone under the total.

Cleveland has gone over the total in 5 of their last 7 home games. Four of the last five meetings between the two teams have gone over the total.
