New York Knicks at Boston NBA Betting

November 30, 2010 NBA Basketball

NBA betting favors Boston on Tuesday as they host the New York Knicks.

It is a tough spot in basketball betting for New York as they had to play last night at home against the Bucks.  It is the first game of a three-game homestand for Boston as they just completed a five-game road trip.

NBA betting has the Celtics leading the season series as they won 107-105 at New York back in November.  The Celtics won the season series last year 3-1. Paul Pierce led the Celtics with 24.0 points per game last season while Al Harrington led the Knicks with 22.3 points per game.  Boston is 17-4 against the Knicks since the 2004-05 season.  Boston has won nine of the last ten straight up and they are 7-2-1 against the basketball betting line. Four of the last five in this series have gone over the NBA betting total.

New York is going to be an interesting team to watch in the second half of the NBA betting season now that they have Tracy McGrady.  He is capable of making a difference for the Knicks for the remainder of this season.  The Knicks also got Eddie House from the Celtics and he looks like he could also help them.  Both players will probably be gone at the end of the season but for now they can help the Knicks win some games in basketball betting.  New York still has David Lee and he leads them in scoring.  The problem for New York in NBA betting is a defense that is near the bottom of the NBA.

Boston can sure play defense as they are first in the league in fewest points allowed.  Boston finished up their five-game road trip on Sunday at Denver and it was a winning trip for the Celtics. Boston has been a far better team on the road in NBA betting than at home.  In fact, Boston has struggled a lot laying the points at home in basketball betting. They are 6-17-1 against the NBA betting odds at home this season.  Ray Allen has decided he has something left and he has been carrying the Celtics in recent games.  Boston has gone under the basketball betting total in 13 of their 24 home games with one push.  That makes sense with their very solid defense that leads the league.
