New Orleans Hornets at Orlando NBA Betting

November 30, 2010 NBA Basketball

NBA betting favors Orlando on Monday as they host the New Orleans Hornets in a game that can be seen on TNT.

It is a tough back-to-back in basketball betting for the Magic as they played a big rivalry game yesterday at Boston.

NBA betting has seen the Magic and Hornets split their last two meetings. The Magic have won six of the last 10 meetings between the two clubs overall.  Orlando has won five of the last nine matchups at home and has lost four of the last seven meetings in New Orleans.  The last time they played was almost exactly a year ago in New Orleans as the Hornets routed the Magic by a score of 117-85.  They have not played in Orlando since December of 2008 when the Magic won 88-68.  That was a rare cover in NBA betting for the Magic at home against the Hornets.  The Magic are just 2-3 in the last five at home against the Hornets in basketball betting.

This has been a low scoring series between New Orleans and Orlando. Except for last year’s game that went over the basketball betting total, the previous five had gone under and overall eight of the last ten have gone under.

New Orleans doesn’t have Chris Paul so that is a major concern for them in basketball betting. They are still trying to hang in there though. They are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 road games. They are also 5-0 ATS in their last 5 vs. the Southeast Division. They are coming off a 104-99 win at Charlotte on Saturday night.  Darren Collison filled in nicely for Paul as he led the team in scoring with 24 points.

Orlando is just 1-3-1 in NBA betting in their last 5 vs. the Western Conference and they are only 1-5 ATS in their last 6 vs. the Southwest Division. The Hornets are 5-1-1 vs. the NBA betting line in the last 7 meetings at Orlando.

The last five New Orleans road games have gone over the NBA betting total. Eight of the last nine overall for the Hornets have gone over.  Orlando has been a team that goes under the total.  Their last four vs. the Southwest Division have gone under in NBA betting.  Six of their last seven at home have gone under the total. In this series, five of the last six have gone under the basketball betting number.
