New Orleans Hornets at Detroit NBA Betting

November 30, 2010 NBA Basketball

NBA betting on Friday has the Detroit Pistons hosting the New Orleans Hornets.

It is the first game of a brief two-game road trip for the Hornets as they are at Detroit tomorrow.  The Hornets have won six of the last ten in this basketball betting series against Detroit.

NBA betting had the Hornets defeating the Pistons 95-87 in New Orleans last month.  It was the third straight win for the Hornets in this series.  The teams have split their last four games at Detroit. Four of the last six games in this NBA betting matchup have gone under the total.  In the earlier NBA betting meeting between the two teams, Richard Hamilton did not play for the Pistons.  He averaged 21.5 points against New Orleans in two games last basketball betting season.

New Orleans has been a tough team to figure out this season in NBA betting. They are just above the .500 mark overall. They are below .500 on the road vs. the basketball betting number as they are 8-11.  Part of the problem for New Orleans earlier in the season was injuries and once Chris Paul came back the team took off in NBA betting. They had a six-game winning streak recently and covered the basketball betting pointspread in five of those games.  The Hornets are still below average on offense and defense as NBA betting statistics indicate.

Detroit finally broke their 13-game losing streak on Tuesday as they defeated Washington 99-90.  Whether that turns things around for Detroit in NBA betting is unknown but at least Detroit did win a game.  Even with the long losing streak, the Pistons are still 8-9 against the NBA betting odds at home this season and that is not a bad number.  The Pistons are 10th in the league on defense which is pretty good but Detroit simply can’t score enough points to win very many games.  They are next to last in the league in scoring as NBA betting stats have it. The Pistons still have Richard Hamilton who can score points and Detroit also had Rodney Stuckey and Charlie Villanueva.  While the Pistons have struggled, they at least do have some players that can impact NBA betting results.

The Hornets are favored in this game on Friday but there is now some hope for Detroit since they broke their long losing streak.
