NBA Wagering Online – 2010-2011 Miami Heat Preview

November 30, 2010 NBA Basketball

The Miami Heat is favored in NBA wagering online to win the 2010-2011 NBA title.

They have the potent trio of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh and gamblers are going to be making an NBA bet a lot on Miami this season. The question is whether or not the Heat is worthy favorites and if they are really going to be a great team.

Odds to Win the NBA Title at Sbgglobal – +170
The Heat has ridiculously low odds to win the NBA title. They are even lower than the odds on the Los Angeles Lakers who are two-time defending champs.  Everyone believes that LeBron, Wade and Bosh will be unstoppable but that remains to be seen.

Season Win Total 64.5
The Heat has a win total of 64.5. That is way above any other team in the league.  It is eight games higher than the Lakers season win total of 56.5. Is Miami really going to be that good?  No one really knows but odds makers are putting up a high total.

Last Year’s Record – 47-35 SU, 42-39-1 ATS
The Heat was good last season but not great.  They were just barely above .500 against the point spread.  The Heat are going to be extremely overvalued this season and they may not match their ATS record of a year ago even though they should win far more games straight up.

Projected Starting Lineup
Guard – Dwyane Wade
Guard – Mario Chalmers
Center – Joel Anthony
Forward – Chris Bosh
Forward – LeBron James

Some people are talking about the Heat breaking the Chicago Bulls’ record of 72 wins.  It seems highly unlikely. Yes, LeBron and Wade are great players but you can’t put Bosh in that category.  The Heat should be well coached by Erik Spoelstra but how well LeBron, Wade and Bosh work together is yet to be seen.  To beat the Bulls’ record, the Heat would have to lose fewer than 10 games all season.  The Bulls started red-hot and never let up as they had an 18-game winning streak at one point. They were an insane 41-3 at one point.  They were 39-2 at home that season. The Heat may be a great team but no one really knows. What we do know is that if you want to take Miami against the NBA wagering online odds you are going to lay points on a regular basis.
