NBA Odds: Portland Trail Blazers vs. Indiana Pacers

In the midst of a seven game road trip, Portlands longest of the season, they arrive tonight at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis for a matchup with the Pacers at 7:00 EST. The Trailblazers enter this contest having gone 2-5 in their last seven games. The two wins coming against a pair of the worst teams in the NBA this season, Washington and New Orleans. In the five losses, Portland allowed an average of almost 109 points a game and 47 percent from beyond the arc.

Portland has traditionally enjoyed success versus Indiana. They have won five of the last six times that these teams have met. The win against Washington came on Saturday by a final score of 110-99. LaMarcus Aldridge had an outstanding performance in that one registering a double, double with 30 points and 10 assists. Jamal Crawford came off the bench to net 23 points of his own. Even with an overall record of 20-21, the Trailblazers trail the Houston Rockets by only 1.5 games for the eighth and final playoff spot in the west, with Minnesota and Utah in between. They’re just 6-14 on the road. The Pacers have had some problems of their own of late. They have lost four in a row. It should be noted, that while the Trailblazers were beating the lowly Wizards and Hornets, Indiana was losing to the likes of Atlanta, Chicago, Miami and Orlando, possibly the four best teams in the east. They have been much more successful against teams with losing records, having come off six wins in a row playing teams under .500 prior to the losses. Danny Granger leads the Pacers with an average of 18.1 points per game. All Star center Roy Hibbard has struggled of late and comes into this one averaging 12.8 points and 9.3 rebounds this year.

They enter tonight’s game with a 23-16 record, sitting at fifth place of the Eastern Conference, in a dogfight with Philadelphia and Atlanta for the fourth spot. They are 11-5 in the land of the Speedway. Indiana is a 3.5 point home favorite, on a wager of $110 to win $100. The same bet of $110 will be required on the over/under set at 190.5.
