NBA Betting – 2010-2011 Phoenix Suns Preview

November 7th, 2023 Live NBA Betting Lines

The Phoenix Suns are not expected to be nearly as good this year in NBA betting as they were a year ago. The Suns won 54 games last season and made the Western Conference Finals.  Not many gamblers making an NBA bet believe the Suns will even have a winning record in 2010-2011.

Odds to Win the NBA Title at Sbg global – 50-1
The Suns are not getting much respect in NBA futures.  The oddsmakers simply don’t believe the Suns can make up for the loss of Amare Stoudemire.

Season Win Total – 41.5
The win total on the Suns this season is much lower than it was last year.  There might actually be some value in going over this total.  Phoenix still has some talent and they may be motivated to prove they can still win without Stoudemire. As we look at the Suns we’ll see if actually going over the total is a good NBA bet.

Last Year’s Record – 54-28 SU, 48-33-1 ATS
Phoenix was an excellent team both straight up and against the spread last season.  Everything went right for the Suns until the Conference finals when they ran into the Los Angeles Lakers.

Projected Starting Lineup
Guard – Steve Nash
Guard – Jason Richardson
Center – Robin Lopez
Forward – Grant Hill
Forward – Channing Frye

Prediction:
The Suns are not going to be as good without Stoudemire.  There is no getting around that fact.  How far the Suns will fall this season against the NBA betting odds is the question we have to answer. The Suns did add Hedo Turkoglu but how well he will fit in this season is in debate. He did not play well last season and he is not expected to be the starter in Phoenix. The Suns did get Josh Childress but he is already hurt so his impact may be negligible. Phoenix is going to have to run up and down the court and hope that everyone shoots the ball well. There will not be nearly as many easy baskets without Stoudemire. The Suns also don’t play much defense and that is another major problem.  Phoenix is well coached though and they still have Nash so they should still be above .500 this season although they may not make the playoffs.
