NBA betting heavily favors the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday as they host the Philadelphia 76ers. The Cavs started the season slowly but have come on strong of late and again look like one of the best teams in the NBA. Philadelphia has not done much right this season and has been a go-against team in basketball betting. NBA has both teams in tough back-to-back situations tonight. The Sixers are beginning a three-game road trip in this game against Cleveland and they had to play last night at home against Memphis. The Cavaliers also played last night at Indiana.
Cleveland has won 7 of the last 10 meetings between the two teams and they are 6-4 against the NBA betting odds in those games. The teams played four times last season and the Cavs won three of the four. The Cavaliers were also a perfect 4- in those games. The Cavs were big favorites in all of the games except late in the NBA season when Cleveland had nothing to play for having clinched the top spot in the East. Before last season when the Cavs went 2-0 at home in NBA against the Sixers, it was Philadelphia who was 2-1 and 3-0 in basketball betting in the last three games at Cleveland. Three of the last five meetings between the two in Cleveland have gone under in NBA betting.
There has not been much to like about Philadelphia this season in terms of NBA betting. They are below average straight up and in NBA betting. They don’t scare anyone offensively and their defense is below average. On paper they should be better than they have been in basketball betting but Elton Brand looks old and other than Andre Iguodala, the rest of the team doesn’t do a whole lot to throw fear into opponents.
Cleveland last year was almost unbeatable at home straight up and they were very profitable against the basketball betting number. That is not the case this basketball betting season. The Cavs have been terrible laying points at home this season in NBA betting. Part of their problem has been defense. Yes, they are still in the Top 10 in the league but last year they led the NBA in fewest points allowed. LeBron James is having another great season but so far the Cavs have been overrated on the NBA betting line.
