The San Antonio Spurs are almost always a team to consider in NBA betting online as they are well coached, have a lot of experience and a solid home court advantage.
The Spurs won 50 games last season and they were also a winner against the NBA betting point spread. The Spurs are getting older so this could be one of their final chances with their current roster.
Last Year’s Record 50-32 SU, 44-37-1 ATS
The Spurs were a successful team last season as they won 50 games straight up and 44 games against the NBA betting point spread at Sbg global. San Antonio is always worth considering but age is a question with many of their best players having seen their best days.
Projected Starting Lineup
Guard – Manu Ginobili
Guard – Tony Parker
Center – Antonio McDyess
Forward – Tim Duncan
Forward – Richard Jefferson
Tim Duncan is a future Hall of Famer and he is still a very good player but he is no longer great. He is going to be 35 years old this season and while he still can score and pull down rebounds, he is not going to dominate as he once did. The Spurs have been great with Duncan throughout the years. Since Duncan has been in San Antonio the Spurs have the best record in the league and they have won four NBA titles. Duncan can still be counted on to score and to rebound but he does need help. The Spurs have a great guard combination with Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker. The trio of Duncan, Ginobili and Parker are still capable of winning games for San Antonio but if the Spurs are to beat a team like the Lakers they need more from players like Jefferson and younger players like DeJuan Blair and rookie Tiago Splitter. The Spurs paid a lot of money for Jefferson and didn’t get much from him last year as he averaged just 12.3 points per game. The Spurs should be helped this season as Parker is healthy. He missed a lot of time last season and that hurt San Antonio. He is a key player for San Antonio in NBA betting online and cannot be replaced. The Spurs are capable of competing at a high level again this season and it is not out of the question to see them make another run at the NBA title in 2010-2011.
