Monday NBA Betting – Magic Look to Crush Grizzlies on NBA-TV

November 30, 2010 NBA Basketball

The Orlando Magic is favored in NBA betting on Monday night as they host the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Magic are 6-3 this season straight up but they are not covering the spread as they are 2-7.  Orlando is heavily favored on Monday though and they will be a popular NBA bet at Sbgglobal.

Memphis comes into this game at 4-6 after a tough overtime loss to Boston on Saturday.  It is really hard to know what to expect from Memphis on a nightly basis. They have a lot of young talent and we know they can score, but far too often they don’t play any defense.

Grizzlies Lack Teeth
The Grizzlies can score as they are 7th in the league but they don’t play enough defense to win on a nightly basis.  Memphis is giving up more than 107 points per game.  Their head coach and their star player admitted that they don’t play defense every night and that is why they are not an elite team. That may not change as the Grizzlies do not have the fundamentals to play defense. They don’t look well coached. They have a lot of young talent so they can score points but they don’t make enough defensive stops to win games.  When they are getting points though, they can be a good bet because of their offense.

Orlando’s Defense
Unlike Memphis who plays no defense, the Magic can make some stops.  They are 4th in the league in fewest points allowed per game this season.  The problem for Orlando is that they are overvalued and laying too many points on a nightly basis.

Monday NBA Betting Trends
The Grizzlies are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 vs. the Southeast. The Grizzlies are 0-6-1 ATS in their last 7 vs. the Eastern Conference. The one positive for Memphis is that they are 12-4 ATS in the last 16 meetings against Orlando.
