Phil Jackson has said this will be his last year in coaching and he could go out on top. The Lakers look just as good as they did last year although injuries are always a concern. The Lakers made some very good off-season moves as they added Steve Blake and Matt Barnes. Blake can come off the bench and provide scoring while Barnes can play defense. The oddsmakers and the public are all over the Heat to win the NBA title this season but they have yet to prove anything. The Lakers are two-time defending champs and they actually look better than they were last season. The Lakers are the team to beat this season and they may actually have some value in NBA betting simply because all of the attention is on the Heat.
