The Memphis Grizzlies are making their presence known in the NBA Playoffs and the San Antonio Spurs are in definite trouble as they play game 4 in NBA betting on Monday night.
The Grizzlies lead the best-of-seven series 2-1 and could take a 3-1 lead if they win at home on Monday. Make your NBA bet on this game at SBG.
Grizzlies Lead 2-1
The Grizzlies have made history in this series by not only winning their first-ever playoff game but also their first home playoff game as well. Zach Randolph scored 25 points including a big 3-pointer as the Grizzlies beat San Antonio 91-88 on Saturday night to take a 2-1 lead in the series. The Grizzlies are the #8 seed in this series while the Spurs are the #1 seed but the Spurs have not played like a top seed. Memphis is trying to become only the fourth #8 team in NBA history to beat a #1 seed.
Spurs Still Have Hope
The Spurs trail the series 2-1 but there is still hope for San Antonio. The Spurs are the seventh top seed to be down 2-1 in a series in NBA history since the playoffs expanded in 1983-84. They are the third top seed since 2003 to be trailing 2-1 in a seven-game series. Four of the previous six top seeds all game back to win their series although the last top seed to trail 2-1 was Dallas in 2007 and they lost to Golden State.
What Happens in Game 4?
The question to answer when you make an NBA bet is what will happen on Monday night. The Spurs have not shot the ball well from 3-point range and they are not getting much inside from Tim Duncan. Manu Ginobili is doing his part but he needs more help. Championship teams step up and win games when they are down in a series. The problem is that the Spurs simply may not be a championship team. Their age shows at times and there is no question Memphis has the youth and the energy in this series. Game 4 should go down to the wire on Monday and it is really a game that the Spurs have to win.
In this series, the Spurs are 1-4 in NBA betting in the last 5 meetings in Memphis. The Grizzlies are 25-7-1 ATS in their last 33 games as an underdog. The Grizzlies are 20-8 ATS in their last 28 home games. The Over is 11-4 in the Spurs last 15 overall. The Under is 9-3 in the last 12 meetings in Memphis.
