NBA Betting – Detroit Pistons vs. Memphis Grizzlies

November 30, 2010 NBA Basketball

NBA betting on Monday includes a nationally televised game on TNT as the Memphis Grizzlies host the Detroit Pistons.

The teams have not played in over a year as the Grizzlies were humiliated last December at Detroit by a score of 94-67.  Although the Pistons are favored in basketball betting odds for this game, the Grizzlies might be worth a play on Monday.

NBA betting stats indicate that the Pistons have won eight of the last ten games straight up against the Grizzlies but they are only 4-6 against the NBA odds. Detroit has won four of the last five games at Memphis but they are only 2-3 against the basketball betting number in those games.

There is not much to choose from on the NBA betting total according to the trends.  The over/under is 5-5 in the last 10 games between the two teams as NBA betting numbers reflect.  At Memphis, three of the last five games have gone over the NBA odds.

Memphis is a very young team that oftentimes struggles to score.  They are near the bottom of the league in scoring as NBA betting statistics show.  Basketball betting numbers tell us that rookie O.J. Mayo has led the team in scoring for much of the year.  Memphis is just about a .500 team against the basketball betting pointspread at home this season.

Detroit has also struggled on offense this season as NBA betting stats have it.  The Pistons are not much better than Memphis in terms of scoring but Detroit has been among the Top 5 in defense for much of the season as NBA betting statistics establish.  The Pistons are a better NBA betting value on the road than they are at home.  Detroit is actually around the .500 mark in NBA betting on the road while at home they have been a pointspread loser.  Allen Iverson has been leading the team in scoring since coming over from Denver.
