Friday NBA Betting – Dallas Mavericks at San Antonio Spurs

November 30, 2010 NBA Basketball

Southwest division rivals get together in NBA betting on Friday as the San Antonio Spurs host the Dallas Mavericks.

The Spurs have the best record in the NBA at 13-1 while the Mavericks are 10-4.  Not only does San Antonio have a great record straight up, they have also been very good to gamblers making an NBA bet at the Sbg sportsbook as they are 9-4-1 against the spread.

The Spurs won again on Wednesday as they pulled out a113-100 overtime win at Minnesota although they did not cover the spread.  The Spurs came from 21 points down in that game and then won in overtime.  San Antonio faces a good test on Friday night against a Dallas team that is very tough on the road.

Mavericks 6-0 ATS on the Road
Dallas is a weird team when it comes to the point spread. They are rotten at home vs. the number but great on the road.  They are a perfect 6-0 ATS on the road this season.  That makes them a very dangerous team on Friday at San Antonio. The Mavericks are coming off another road win as they went into Oklahoma City and pulled out a 111-103 win. Dirk Nowitzki poured in 34 points in that win while Tyson Chandler had 17 points and 18 rebounds.

Great Rivalry
These two teams play in the same state and they know each other very well.  This will be the first meeting since the teams met last season in the playoffs when the Spurs beat the Mavericks in six games.  Nowitzki averaged almost 27 points per game in that series for Dallas but he didn’t get a lot of help.  Five of those six games in that series went under the total.

Sizzling Trends
The Mavericks are 16-4-1 in NBA betting in their last 21 road games. The Spurs are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 home games. The Spurs are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 Friday games. If you are going to make an NBA bet on the total then keep in mind that the Under is 15-5-1 in the Mavericks last 21 overall. The Over is 5-1 in the Spurs last 6 home games. The Under is 6-0-1 in the last 7 meetings between the two teams. The Under is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings in San Antonio.
