Minnesota Timberwolves at Denver Basketball Betting

November 30, 2010 NBA Basketball

Basketball betting has a quick rematch on Sunday between the Minnesota Timberwolves and Denver Nuggets.

The two teams played on Wednesday in Minnesota and the Nuggets rolled by a score of 124-111 in NBA betting.  Here is a look at trends and stats in addition to some info on what happened in Wednesday night’s game.

Basketball betting heavily favors the Nuggets in this game. Denver was an 8.5 point road favorite in basketball betting on Wednesday and they are laying double-digits in this home matchup.  The Timberwolves have lost their last ten games against Denver straight up but they are 5-5 vs. the NBA betting odds. The Timberwolves don’t win in Denver but they do cover the basketball betting number. They are 4-1 in NBA betting in the last five games at Denver.  Normally the Timberwolves are getting big points at Denver and they oftentimes slip under the basketball betting number.  Three of the last five games between the two teams in Denver have gone over in basketball betting.

In the game on Wednesday, it was Denver winning 124-111 in basketball betting as Carmelo Anthony 22 points. Seven players scored in double-figures for the Nuggets in the NBA betting win.  Nenê had 17 points, eight rebounds and six assists. Corey Brewer led Minnesota with a career-high 22 points and 13 rebounds, while Jonny Flynn added 20 points and Ryan Hollins chipped in a career-high 19.

If not for the New Jersey Nets, the Timberwolves would be the worst team in the NBA. There is simply not a lot to like with Minnesota but at least they can cover the basketball betting number on occasion.  They are actually a better bet on the road in basketball betting since they get more points. Minnesota is being outscored by an average of 14 points per game this basketball betting season.

Denver has been very good at home this season in basketball betting. They are always favored but they are still a very good bet.  Most teams simply can’t handle the altitude and Denver simply outscores them in basketball betting.  Carmelo Anthony is averaging almost 30 points per game to lead a very balanced Denver attack.  The only concern for Denver is a defense that is below average. So far it hasn’t been too much of a problem since their offense is ranked in the Top 5 in the league.
