Miami Heat at Denver Basketball Betting

November 30, 2010 NBA Basketball

Basketball betting favors the Denver Nuggets on Thursday as they host the Miami Heat in a game that can be seen on TNT.

It is the second of a four-game road trip for the Heat as they visit the Lakers tomorrow.  This will be the second and final time the two teams meet this NBA betting season.

Basketball betting had the Heat winning 96-88 last month in Miami. If the Heat can pull of the road win in basketball betting it would mean a season sweep of the Nuggets and that is something they haven’t done since the 2001-02 season. Last season, Denver swept the season-series, 2-0. The Nuggets have currently won seven-straight games in Denver vs. the Heat. Miami’s last win in Denver came with a 100-94 overtime win in 2002. The Heat are 9-13 in games played in Denver.  The Nuggets are 6-3-1 against the basketball betting odds in the last ten games against Miami.

The Heat have been getting a lot of press this basketball betting season but they are still just barely over .500.  Dwyane Wade is leading the team in scoring as usual and is one of the top players in the NBA. The Heat still struggle to score though and they are well below the league average in points per game. Miami’s defense has been solid though as they rank in the Top 10 in fewest points allowed per basketball betting contest.

Denver has an excellent straight up record but they are just barely over .500 against the NBA betting odds. The Nuggets have been better at home in basketball betting than on the road.  Carmelo Anthony leads an offense that is right up near the top of the league in points per NBA betting game.  Denver’s defense has not been that great but when you are putting up over 109 points per game it doesn’t matter in the basketball betting regular season.  The Northwest division is much better overall this season so Denver should get some competition.  Utah has righted their ship after a poor start in NBA betting and Portland is not going anywhere. Oklahoma City is also much improved in basketball betting.  A tougher division might help Denver in the long run since the playoffs run through the Lakers.

This should be an entertaining game on Thursday in basketball betting. Carmelo Anthony and Dwyane Wade are two of the top scorers in the league so this should be fun to watch in basketball betting.
