NBA Betting Online – Game 2 – Knicks at Celtics on TNT

May 30, 2011 NBA Basketball

The Knicks get a chance to even their best-of-seven series on Tuesday night at Boston.

The New York Knicks came very close to winning Game 1 of their series against the Boston Celtics but they fell short although they did cover the NBA betting online number.  The Celtics are 7-point favorites in NBA betting with a total of 193 at SBG.

Celtics Lead Series 1-0
Boston got a big 3-pointer from Ray Allen to beat the Knicks 87-85 on Sunday in Game 1.  New York led for almost the entire game but all they got for their efforts in Game 1 was a loss.  Boston’s experience in the clutch was evident as they made the plays down the stretch to win while New York did not.  The Knicks had not been in a playoff game in seven seasons and they have not won a playoff game since 2001.

Billups Injured
The Knicks could be in trouble on Tuesday night as point guard Chauncey Billups is injured.  He was hurt with 51 second left in Game 1 and his status for Tuesday is up in the air. It he does not go then it would be Toney Douglas who starts in his place.  Douglas did hit a big 3-pointer in Game 1 that put New York ahead 85-82 but those were the last points the Knicks would score.

Anthony Fails New York
You can put some of the Game 1 loss on the shoulders of Carmelo Anthony.  He missed 10 of his 11 shots in the second half and had just 15 points for the game.  He also missed a 3-point shot with 2 seconds left that would have put New York ahead.  Amar’e Stoudemire did his part for New York with 28 points and 11 rebounds but Anthony didn’t give him much help down the stretch and the Knicks lost.

Tuesday Game Trends
The Knicks are 4-1 in NBA betting in their last 5 road games. The Knicks are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games overall. The Knicks are 28-12-2 ATS in their last 42 games as an underdog. The Celtics are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games.   The Knicks have been going under the total of late with five of their last six games going under in NBA betting online. Boston is also a team that goes under as the Under is 16-4-1 in the Celtics last 21 overall.
