Indiana Pacers at Miami Basketball Betting

November 30, 2010 NBA Basketball

Basketball betting has Miami favored at home on Tuesday as they host the Indiana Pacers.

It is the first game of a three-game road trip for the Pacers and Indiana has not faired that well on the road this season as they are 8-12 against the NBA betting odds.

Basketball betting has this as the third meeting between Indiana and Miami this season.  Miami won the first two games and neither was close in basketball betting. The Heat routed Indiana 114-80 in Miami and 96-83 at Indiana.  Indiana leads the overall series 49-30 but they are just 15-24 in the games played at Miami.

Overall, the Pacers and Heat have split their last ten meetings both straight up and against the basketball betting odds. This is really a home team dominated series.  The Heat have won three of the last four at home both straight up and against the NBA betting line vs. Indiana.  The last three meetings between the two teams have gone under the basketball betting total.

Indiana is actually doing okay lately in NBA betting. They are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall.   Miami has done well against the Central Division of late, going 5-1 ATS in their last 6 but t he Heat are a poor team at home vs. the basketball betting odds. The Heat are 5-11 in basketball betting in their last 16 home games.

The last five Indiana games on the road have all gone over the total. Eight of the last eleven Indiana games overall have gone over. Miami has been going under in games vs. the Central as eight of their last eight have gone under in NBA betting.  In this series, five of the last seven games have gone under.

Indiana is still not a good team but at least now that they have Danny Granger back they can be competitive in basketball betting. Granger has missed much of this season and the Pacers were poor without him.  The problem for Indiana is that they simply don’t have much scoring behind Granger and their defense is bad. Indiana is 25th in the league in points allowed.  The Heat may not be able to take advantage of that defense too much as Miami is just 24th in the league in terms of points scored. Miami’s defense is decent though, ranking 13th in the league.
