Basketball betting will have Memphis favored at home on Saturday night as they host the Golden State Warriors. The Grizzlies have been a solid home team while Golden State simply doesn’t win very often on the road. It doesn’t help the Warriors in terms of NBA betting that they had to play last night at San Antonio.
Basketball betting in this series has pretty much gone right down the middle. The Warriors have won six of the last ten in this series but the teams have split against the NBA betting line. The teams have played twice this season with the home team winning each time. Golden State won 113-105 in Oakland while the Grizzlies won 121-108 in Memphis. Three of the last four games in this series have gone over in basketball betting.
While the Warriors have not been a very good team straight up, they have been covering the basketball betting point spread. The Warriors actually have a winning record vs. the spread at home and on the road. Golden State can score as they are 3rd in the league in points per game but they can’t stop anyone as they are last in the league on defense. Golden State goes over the total at little bit at home but on the road they have been a team that goes under the total. Taking Golden State games under the total is always risky but on the road it has worked a little bit.
Memphis is having a nice season but it is still not likely to be good enough to make the playoffs. The Grizzlies are probably too far back in the Western Conference to catch Portland. Memphis has not been covering the spread at home as much as they do on the road. At home the Grizzlies actually have a losing home mark in basketball betting. They are 16-18-2 vs. the line in home games. The Grizzlies have been going under the total more often at home while on the road they go over on a regular basis. With Golden State’s tendency to go under the total on the road and Memphis’ numbers at home that point to the under, that could be the way to go in this game. It is not easy to do though considering the Warriors are 3rd in the league on offense while Memphis is 7th.
