Following their first championship in franchise history, the Denver Nuggets are a hot property. Denver became the people’s choice to repeat as NBA betting champions in the 2023-24 season. As is usually the case, there is a great irony with futures betting. The masses bet on the future based on the past. It is customary in all sports that the defending champion opens as the next season’s favorite. But this is not your father’s NBA. The Association has never had more parity or unpredictability. The old days of two or three dominant teams have ended.

2023-24 NBA championship Futures SBG Odds Overview
Although the defending champion Nuggets are the online betting favorite, they are not a traditional public brand. That status goes to the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers. Boston fell short of expectations in the 2023 NBA Playoffs. Cause by the Celtics losing game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals at home to the Miami Heat. At the same time, the Lakers made the Western Conference Finals. That was a surprise. Los Angeles is getting more gambling love than what is justified.
The Milwaukee Bucks have been one of the most popular teams on the board. Cause by Giannis Antetokounmpo manning the marquee. But when the Greek Freak is not at 100% health, the Bucks are a flawed team. Still, Milwaukee is a popular team with the masses.
2023-24 NBA Championship Futures – Top Teams
Denver Nuggets +450
At the onset, the Nuggets will return all five starters. Including Finals MVP Nikola Jokic and point guard Jamal Murray. A key thing to watch this offseason will be whether the team can retain reserve Bruce Brown. Also, Denver will likely need to reconfigure its bench with players such as Jeff Green and Reggie Jackson among the team’s eight free agents.
Boston Celti9cs +550
Initially, the Celtics have a decision regarding two-time all-star Jaylen Brown. After making the All-NBA Second Team, Brown is eligible for a new five-year contract extension worth as much as $295 million. Thus, if the team decides not to extend Brown, he could be traded to a different team this summer. Much of Boston’s future odds come down to what they elect to do with Brown.
Milwaukee Bucks +650
New coach Adrian Griffin will have the luxury of working with a championship roster. Consider that Milwaukee fired Mike Budenholzer following a first-round exit. Griffin’s first season could be easier if the Bucks decide to bring back Brook Lopez, an unrestricted free agent. Of course, Budenholzer was done in by Giannis not being at full strength for the Playoffs.
Phoenix Suns +850
Frank Vogel replaces 2022 Coach of the Year Monty Williams. Williams was let go following a second straight second-round elimination. Of course, Vogel won a title in his first season with the Los Angeles Lakers. He was managing LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Now he can manage two more elite players, Kevin Durant, and Devin Booker.
Philadelphia 76ers
Nick Nurse takes over for Doc Rivers as coach to complete one Philadelphia offseason storyline. Now the other is up to James Harden. Harden could return to the team and try another title run alongside reigning MVP Joel Embiid. However, if Harden doesn’t return, expect the 76ers to be busy attempting to find complementary pieces around Embiid.
