Oregon Ducks vs. Wisconsin Badgers

On the whole Oregon’s appearance in the NCAA tournament is a clear case of better late than never.  After sleepwalking through most of the season the Ducks caught fire to win the Pac 12 Tournament in convincing fashion.  Meanwhile the Wisconsin Badgers are the rock of stability.  Wisky was break even with Vegas lines NCAA basketball but seems to be losing steam as the Big Dance begins.  Now both Oregon and Wisconsin boast two of the best defenses in college basketball.  Of great concern are their plodding offenses that have clogged up their championship aspirations.

Oregon Ducks

Important Names on Court

Certainly, Dana Altman has proven to be the answer as head coach of Oregon.  This will be the sixth Big Dance appearance for the Ducks in the last seven years.  Altman led Oregon to the Final Four in 2017.  For Nike U he has provided their best era of basketball.  As a matter of fact, Oregon is so pleased that they extended Altman last week.  It’s likely that he will retire in Eugene.

Greg Gard

Head coach Greg Gard is a native of Wisconsin and has engineered a strong comeback after a poor 15-18 season last year.  Account of two Sweet 16 appearances in this first two UW seasons did expectations raise too much.  Gard had to retool the roster last year but that is now paying dividends as the Badgers are back in the Big Dance.

Watch out for these players

Extending Wisconsin’s success is forward Ethan Happ.  Consider Happ’s 17.5 points and 10.1 rebounds per game.  Oregon is led by forward Louis King’s 13.1 points and 5.7 rebounds per outing.  Both players were key in their respective team’s offshore betting sportsbook success.
