Basketball bet has a late night matchup on Thursday as the Golden State Warriors host the Denver Nuggets in a game that can be seen on TNT television.
The Nuggets have won eight of the last ten in this series against the Warriors but they are just 5-5 against the basketball betting odds.
Basketball bet has seen Denver win all three meetings against Golden State this season but they are just 1-2 against the spread. The Nuggets won at Golden State last month 123-118 but they did not cover the six point spread in basketball betting. The Nuggets won 123-122 and 135-107 at home earlier this season against Golden State. The last four games between the two teams have gone over the basketball bet total. That would make sense since both teams have potent offenses and very weak defenses.
Denver has the second best record in the Western Conference but they have not been a success against the basketball betting odds. The Nuggets are 11-14-2 against the basketball bet odds on the road this season. The Nuggets are second in the league in scoring but their defense is still weak, ranking 22nd in the league. That is a major problem when it comes to covering the basketball bet point spread. Teams that don’t play defense can give up backdoor covers on a regular basis and Denver does that way too often. The Nuggets are led in scoring by Carmelo Anthony who averages just under 30 points per game this season.
Golden State is kind of the opposite of Denver in many ways. They have a poor straight up record but against the basketball bet point spread they are winning. The Warriors have a winning record at home against the basketball betting odds. The difference with Golden State is that they are almost always getting points and their offense is good enough for them to cover the spread in some of their games. Their defense is terrible but unlike Denver, they are not laying points very often.
Golden State has so many injuries it is hard to keep track when you are looking to make a basketball bet. They have eight players on the injured list including starters like Corey Maggette and Raja Bell. Golden State does have some talented young players like Stephen Curry but overall the Warriors don’t have enough talent to win on a nightly basis.
