Denver Nuggets at Cleveland Basketball Betting

January 5th, 2024 Live NBA Betting Lines

Basketball bet has the best team from the Eastern Conference, the Cleveland Cavaliers hosting the second best team from the Western Conference, the Denver Nuggets on Thursday. The Cavaliers are favored at home in basketball betting in this game that can be seen on TNT television.

Basketball bet has seen the Nuggets do quite well against the Cavaliers recently.  Denver Nuggets has won seven of the last ten against Cleveland and they are 6-4 against the basketball betting odds.  The teams met last month in Denver and it was a great game that Denver pulled out 99-97 for those making a basketball bet.  Chauncey Billups led the Nuggets with 23 points while Kenyon Martin had 19 points and 12 rebounds. LeBron James had 35 points to lead the Cavaliers.

The last time the teams met in Cleveland was just over a year ago as the Cavaliers won 110-99.  Despite that loss, Denver has held their own at Cleveland, winning three of the last five basketball bet meetings. Three of the last four between the two teams have gone under the basketball bet total.

While most of the NBA teams got right back into action on Tuesday after the All-Star break, Denver has had to wait until Thursday.  The Nuggets are 10-13-2 against the basketball bet odds on the road this season so they are no bargain away from home.  Denver Nuggets can score, as they are 3rd in the league in points per game as basketball betting statistics have it, but their defense is leaky at 22nd in the league.  Carmelo Anthony is leading the team in scoring and he has been battling LeBron James for the league scoring lead for much of the season.

This is also the first game for Cleveland since before the All-Star game so it will be interesting to see if they can keep their winning streak going. The Cavaliers have won 13 straight overall.  They rarely lose at home but they are still below .500 vs. the basketball betting odds at home at 12-15.  Cleveland is in rare company in the NBA as they rank in the Top 10 in both offense and defense. They are 9th in the league on offense and 3rd on defense as basketball bet stats indicate.  Cleveland has a tough stretch of games coming out of the break as after tonight they are in Charlotte tomorrow and at Orlando on Sunday.
