Cleveland Cavaliers at Detroit Basketball Betting

November 30, 2010 NBA Basketball

Basketball betting favors Cleveland on Wednesday as they go on the road to play Detroit.

The Cavaliers have been playing very well of late in NBA betting.  They just finished a tough stretch of four basketball betting games in five nights and went 3-1.

Basketball betting has seen the Cavaliers win 10 of their last 12 games. The Cavaliers have thrived on the road, going 5-2 this season and that winning percentage is tied for 2nd best in the league.  Cleveland has stepped up their defense of late and it is winning them games in NBA betting. They stymied Philadelphia in their last game as they outscored the Sixers 22-10 in the fourth quarter and held Philadelphia to just 4-23 (.174) shooting from the field. The 10 points scored by the Sixers was a Cavs’ opponent low for points in a quarter this basketball betting year. The previous night against the Pacers, the Cavaliers held Indiana to 4-18 (.222) shooting and just 13 points in the fourth quarter.

Cleveland is being led again this season by LeBron James who is averaging 29.4 points per game, third best in the league.  He has been getting offensive support of late from J.J. Hickson who has averaged 15.7 points per game in the last six games. Mo Williams is also playing well, averaging 17.3 points per game this basketball betting season.

Last season the Cavaliers defeated the Pistons in three of their four regular season basketball betting meetings. The Cavs have won 7 of the last 10 outright against Detroit and they are also 6-4 against the NBA betting odds.  This is an NBA betting rematch of last season’s playoff series that Cleveland won in four straight. The Pistons simply did not match up at all with Detroit a year ago in basketball betting. The teams did split the two regular season games in Detroit though.  In the playoffs it was another story as Cleveland routed them in basketball betting in Detroit by scores of 79-68 and 99-78.  Nine of the last ten between these two teams have gone under the basketball betting total.

The Pistons are 5-9 straight up but they are 8-6 against the basketball betting line.  Defense is not the problem for Detroit as they rank 7th in the league but the Pistons can’t score. They are 26th in the league in scoring as basketball betting stats show and that is simply not good enough to win consistently in this league.
