Basketball Playoffs Betting – Game 6 – Mavericks at Trail Blazers

May 30, 2011 NBA Basketball

The home team has won every game in the series between the Dallas Mavericks and Portland Trail Blazers and Portland is favored in basketball playoffs betting to keep that streak going on Thursday night.

The Mavericks lead the series 3-2 and will try and eliminate the Trail Blazers in Portland.  While the home team has won each game in the series, the Blazers have not covered the NBA basketball playoffs betting number in their previous two home contests.

Portland -4.5, total 182
The Trail Blazers are favored because they are at home in NBA basketball playoffs betting at Sbg global but there are some concerns if you like Portland in this game. The Mavericks are starting to push around the Blazers and win the physical battle.  If that continues to happen this series is going to end on Thursday night.  The Mavericks have the edge in skill players so Portland needs to win the battle of force. They lost it on Monday night as Dallas dominated inside.  Tyson Chandler totally controlled the boards in Game 5 on Monday and Dallas was able to get a big win to take a 3-2 lead in the series. Chandler had 14 points and 20 rebounds and played aggressive all night.  Dallas should have already won this series but they blew a huge lead in Game 4. They now get a chance to put away the Blazers on Thursday night in basketball playoffs betting.  Dallas won the rebounding battle on Monday 49-37.

Roy Inconsistent
There is no doubt that Brandon Roy has a ton of talent but there is also no doubt he is not the player he once was. He simply doesn’t have the ability to play consistently anymore. He has been brilliant at times in this series and at other times he has been invisible. He had 24 points in Game 4 but scored just five points in Game 5. Who knows what he will do in Game 6.  In Portland’s two wins in he has averaged 20 points per game but in their three losses he has averaged 2.3 points per game.

Game Trends
The Mavericks are 14-6-1 ATS in their last 21 games as a road underdog. The Trail Blazers are 9-3-1 ATS in their last 13 home games.
