There is a lot to like about Golden State when it comes to covering the basketball betting spread at SBG. The Warriors have a lot of scoring options and that makes them a threat to get backdoor covers. Golden State still doesn’t play defense so they are not likely to make the playoffs but they are going to be fun to watch with Ellis and Curry putting up a lot of points. Lee is a good player who can produce every night as well. He averaged at least 20 points and 10 rebounds a game last season. The Warriors have a good center in Andris Biedrins and he is capable of a double-double on a nightly basis. Golden State finally got rid of Don Nelson as head coach and that was a major step in the right direction. He was holding the team down and now the Warriors can move forward with Keith Smart as the new head coach. The key this season for Smart will get the Warriors to play defense. There is no doubt that Golden State can score but to win consistently in the NBA a team has to play some defense. Golden State is going to be a team to monitor this season. They could be vastly improved from last season simply because they now have a coach who knows what he is doing. Nelson was a very good coach in his prime but he was just hanging around for a paycheck the last couple of years. Smart should energize the Warriors and with Ellis and Curry leading the way, Golden State will no longer be a team that is an automatic win on opposing team’s schedules.
