Basketball Betting – Game 6 – Lakers at Hornets Betting Analysis.  The Los Angeles Lakers will try and eliminate the New Orleans Hornets as the two teams meet in Game 6 on Thursday in basketball betting. The Lakers finally played like two-time defending champions on Tuesday night as they routed New Orleans in Game 5.  The Lakers are favored in NBA basketball betting at Sbgglobal to win Game 6 against the Hornets and end this series.

Lakers -5.5, total 184
The Lakers got a strong game from Kobe Bryant who was playing with a sprained ankle as they won Game 5 at home by a score of 106-90.  Kobe had 19 points and energized the Lakers with a number of big plays.  The Lakers also dominated inside which is what they should have been doing all along in this series.  Andrew Bynum had 18 points and 10 rebounds while Pau Gasol added 16 points.  We said last week that for the Lakers to win they needed to get the ball inside.  It is really that simple.  New Orleans has no chance to compete when the Lakers get the ball inside.  The Lakers got 15 offensive rebounds and did what they are supposed to do.  New Orleans was led by Trevor Ariza who scored 22 points while Marco Belinelli added 21 and Chris Paul scored 20. The Hornets also turned the ball over 19 times and that is simply unacceptable in any game.

Lakers Changing Things up on Paul
Another reason the Lakers won on Tuesday night in NBA basketball betting was there defense on Chris Paul. He scored 20 points but he didn’t take over like he had in previous games. The Lakers understand that Derek Fisher and Steve Blake have no chance to stay with Paul so they used Ron Artest and Matt Barnes on Paul.  That made it more difficult for Paul to get open shots and it forced other players to beat the Lakers and that didn’t happen.  New Orleans does not have enough talent to beat the Lakers unless Paul has an unbelievable game. He didn’t on Tuesday and the Hornets lost.

Game Trends
The Lakers are 5-2 ATS in the last 7 meetings in New Orleans. The Lakers are 9-4 in basketball betting in their last 13 road games. The Hornets are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 playoff games as an underdog. The Over is 6-2 in the Lakers last 8 overall. The Over is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings in New Orleans.
