The Orlando Magic will try and even their series against Atlanta on Tuesday night and they are favored in NBA playoffs betting online by 8.5 points at Sbgglobal.
The Magic were humbled at home in game one as they were routed 103-93 in NBA playoffs betting. Orlando will need more than just Dwight Howard if they are to even this best-of-seven series on Tuesday.
Monster Game for Howard Means Nothing
The Atlanta Hawks couldn’t slow down Orlando’s Dwight Howard at all but it didn’t matter. The Magic got a career high tying 46 points from Howard and 26 from Jameer Nelson but no other player did anything. The Hawks got 25 from Joe Johnson and 23 from Jamaal Crawford as they led virtually from start to finish. The Hawks led by as many as 18 with the final margin being 10. Five players scored at least 13 points for the Hawks who have now won the last four games against Orlando. Al Horford had 16; Josh Smith had 15 while Kirk Hinrich had 13 points.
We probably shouldn’t be too surprised that Atlanta blew out Orlando in Game 1. It is just like Atlanta to do something totally unexpected. They lost their last six games of the season so, of course, they play a great game against the Magic to start the playoffs. It would be just like them to totally lay an egg in Game 2 and lose by 40. The Magic are the same type of team. They can look great one game and horrible the next. You probably should expect the unexpected in this series. Keep in mind this is the same Atlanta team that was blown out in four straight last year in NBA playoffs betting by the Magic in the playoffs.
The Magic needs to have a more balanced attack if they are to win on Tuesday. When Howard takes 16 shots or more from the field the Magic are 10-13 this season. When he has 10 attempts or less the Magic is 17-3. Even with their win in Game 1, the Hawks are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games as an underdog. The Magic are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 playoff games as a favorite. The Magic are 2-8 ATS in their last 10 home games. The Hawks are 5-0 ATS in the last 5 meetings against Orlando. 10 of the last 14 Atlanta playoff games have gone under in NBA playoffs betting online.
