NBA All Star game betting has the best players in the Western Conference facing the best players in the Eastern Conference. The NBA All Star game is played on Sunday, February 17th at the New Orleans Arena in New Orleans, Louisiana.  Let’s take a look at NBA All Star betting for the 2008 game. NBA All Star betting has traditionally seen high scoring games.  The first ever NBA All Star was played back in 1951 at the Boston Garden.

As you look at NBA All Star betting you will notice some minor differences between regular season play.  All Star starters are voted on by the fans which mean players don’t always play their normal positions.  Defense is really not played much in the game which is why you see the NBA All Star betting total in the 250’s.  The coaches also try to give all of the players a good amount of playing time so the starters will not be playing anywhere near normal minutes. As you consider NBA All Star game betting you should know that the starters on the West are Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan, Yao Ming, Carmelo Anthony and Allen Iverson.  The East starters for the NBA All Star are LeBron James, Kevin Garnett (injured), Dwyane Wade, Jason Kidd and Dwight Howard.  Just looking at the starting lineups it is easy to see why the West will be favored in NBA All Star betting.

NBA All Star betting in recent years has had the Western Conference favored and that will be the case again this season.  The Eastern Conference also lost the top vote getter, Kevin Garnett, because of injury.  NBA All Star betting usually sees the public focus more on the total than the side.  This is unusual because the public rarely gets involved in betting totals. That is not the case in NBA All Star betting though.  The public loves to see points scored in the NBA All Star so they bet the over, if they bet anything at all.  Also remember that it is an All Star game and very few gamblers get involved in wagering on the game.  With the game being on Sunday night and on TNT, perhaps NBA All Star betting in 2008 will hold a little bit more appeal.
