Carlos Zambrano and the Chicago Cubs face the Milwaukee Brewers in Wednesday baseball wagering. It is the second game of a three-game series between the two teams. Zambrano has not pitched well this season but the Cubs could still get some action in MLB wagering in this ESPN televised game. Baseball wagering odds may favor the Cubs but it probably depends upon who the Brewers choose to send to the mound. Randy Wolf could get the start or it might be Dave Bush. If Wolf gets the start then the Brewers might be favored but if Bush goes to the mound then the Cubs might be the choice. Either way, the baseball wagering odds will be close.
Zambrano is 1-4 on the season with a 6.14 ERA. Zambrano pitched just 4 1/3 innings last time out against Houston and gave up three runs on six hits. Zambrano is working his way back into form as a starter so it was not a surprise to see him only throw a limited amount of pitches. He should go a little longer in this game if he pitches well.
Before this series began yesterday, the Cubs had won 13 of the last 20 games against the Brewers. The teams have already met in two series this season but both were early in the season. The Cubs took two of three at home and then swept the Brewers in Milwaukee. Four of those six games went over the total in baseball wagering.
Chicago has been a poor road team this season in baseball wagering. The Cubs have been better at home although they are nothing special this year at Wrigley either. The Cubs are simply an overvalued team on a nightly basis in MLB wagering. They are well below average in hitting and they are below average in pitching. The one positive for the Cubs in this series is that the Brewers are even worse.
Milwaukee has been simply awful at home this season. There is no rhyme or reason for why the Brewers have struggled so much at home in MLB wagering but they have been a very poor bet at home. They can hit, as they are in the Top 10 in the league in runs scored but they are near the bottom of the league in ERA.
