Yanks Looking to Continue Road Success in Baseball Wagering

February 29th, 2024 Betting on MLB Baseball

The New York Yanks have been winning vs. the baseball wagering odds at home and on the road this season. They will look for more road success on Wednesday in MLB wagering as they face the Tigers in a game that can be seen on ESPN. Baseball wagering odds will favor the Yankees on Wednesday. It could be Phil Hughes on the mound for New York and he has been excellent this season for the Yankees. Detroit is scheduled to send Jeremy Bonderman who is 1-1 on the season.  Bonderman has an ERA of 5.74 and those numbers could be a lot worse except that Bonderman lucked out in his last start as he gave up six runs on seven hits in just over two innings but the game was called due to rain because the teams had not played five innings.

The Yankees get a lot of publicity in baseball wagering because of their powerful offense led by Alex Rodriguez and Mark Teixeira but it is their pitching that is sparkling this season.  The Yanks starting rotation has simply been spectacular this season.  CC Sabathia, A.J. Burnett, Andy Pettitte and Phil Hughes have been excellent. Javier Vazquez has been a mess but when four of the five starters are great, the fifth one is kind of ignored. In fact, Sabathia, Pettitte, Burnett and Hughes had a combined ERA of under 2.5. “I think because of our starting pitching we always have a chance to win,” manager Joe Girardi said.

New York has been a model of consistency in baseball wagering this season. In their first 10 series of the season they won nine of them.  Only two times in history had they done better as in 1939 they won 11 of their first 12 series while they won 14 of their first 15 series in 1928. New York is having baseball wagering success without center fielder Curtis Granderson who is on the disabled list. Designated hitter Nick Johnson is also on the DL. “The injuries are a concern,” Girardi said, “but starting pitching is the key. Keeping your starting pitching healthy is very important. If you have starting pitching, you still have a chance.”

Before this baseball season, the Yankees and Tigers had split their last 10 games at Detroit. Six of those games went over the MLB wagering total.
