Baseball Betting Toronto Blue Jays 2009

March 8th, 2024 Betting on MLB Baseball

Baseball betting gods have not been smiling on the Blue Jays in recent years. Injuries and bad luck have combined to derail several of the past few bet on MLB seasons for this talented club. Yet playing in the toughest division in MLB betting doesn’t help the Jays’ post season hopes either and the team will likely fall just short in the up coming bet on baseball season as well.

MBL betting fans have surely noticed a change in the club since the front office changed hands several years ago. However, as much as J.P. Ricciardi has improved the team it hasn’t been enough to get over the MLB betting hump. And after losing big name pitching ace AJ Burnett to baseball betting’s Evil Empire the Jays have their work cut out for them in the bet on baseball season in 2009.

Luckily, the team still has one of the top five pitchers in baseball betting in staff ace Roy Halladay to anchor the pitching staff. If you’re going to bet on baseball pitchers most likely to win 20 games in a season, Halladay is not a bad guy to put money on. Last year he was superb with 20 wins, a 2.79 ERA and 210 Ks for the MLB betting season. The bad news is that the baseball betting rotation trails off a bit after Halladay. While not the most intimidating rotation in the bet on baseball competition it’s serviceable. RHP Jesse Litsch seems to have the number two spot locked up but the rest of the staff is up in the air and will decided in MLB betting spring training. BJ Ryan is fine closer but the middle relief is suspect and could hurt the Jays bet on baseball chances down the stretch.

At the plate, this team can put up runs but is one of the weakest hitting teams in baseball betting. Injuries didn’t help the team’s MLB betting cause last season, but there is no way to sugarcoat the fact that this team lacks sluggers and has no real lead off man. Vernon Wells, missed a third of the baseball betting season last year and still led the team with 20 HRs in the bet on baseball competition last year. If healthy he can hit 40 and teammate Alex Rios can also bat for power and average.

Still for this team to surpass the division winning Rays, Yankees, or Red Sox this baseball betting season seems a tall order. Looks like another MLB betting season at the bottom of the pack.
