Online gambling odds for fans who bet on baseball:

Dodgers -1½ (-105) 9½ (-110) -155
White Sox +1½ (-115) 9½ (-110) +145

Los Angeles Dodgers (65-29)

On the mound: Kenta Maeda (RHP, 7-4, 4.38 ERA, 77 K) has won three of his last four appearances but has lasted more than five innings in only three of his 14 starts – the last of which was a seven-scoreless inning outing on June 27th – and has tossed more than 100 pitches only two times. Maeda had a 1.71 ERA in five appearances, three of which were starts. He allowed the Royals one run on four hits in five innings on July 7th. The Japanese is 2-2 with a 3.81 ERA in five career interleague starts. Maeda’s 52.3% offspeed rate when behind in the count is the 8th highest among starters with at least 300 pitches while behind the batter this season.
At bat: rookie first baseman Cody Bellinger entered Tuesday with 26 home runs, which makes the player with the second-most bombs through the first 73 games of a career in the past 100 seasons.

Trends for fans who bet on baseball: Los Doyers have won 10 straight games as well as 30 of their last 34. The MLB betting total has gone under in 80% of LAD’s last five games – ditto their last six meetings with the White Sox – and under in two thirds of their last six road games.

Chicago White Sox (38-53)

On the mound: Carlos Rodon (LHP, 1-2, 4.32 ERA, 16 K) was just hitting his stride after being sidelined with left bicep bursitis for three months when the midseason cut his momentum short. Rodon allowed the Rockies six runs in 5 1/3 innings in his last outing on July 9th. “Yeah, it’s tough,” he said. “Just keep it going, try to get throwing during the break, get on the mound. These guys deserve the break, they’ve been going at it a long time. Me, not so much.” Rodon will be making his first start in 10 days and his first career start versus the Dodgers, and his second in a row versus an interleague foe. Rodon is 3-3 with a 5.50 ERA in seven career interleague starts.

Miscellanea: MLBPipeline.com’s No. 1 prospect Yoan Moncada is set to debut following his promotion from Triple-A Charlotte. The Cuban hit .282 with 12 home runs and 36 RBIs in 80 games with the Charlotte Knights. According to general manager Rick Hahn, he is expected to play every day at second base while his development continues. “We’re starting to get a little younger in that clubhouse,” Hahn said. “A few guys are starting to get opportunities over the next few weeks and months. It will be interesting to see.”

Trends for fans who bet on baseball: The MLB betting total has gone over in five of the Sox’s last six times hosting the Dodgers.
