MLB Odds Preview: Texas Rangers

March 12th, 2024 Betting on MLB Baseball

MLB odds fans will be quick to point out that there have been few teams worse than the Texas Rangers in the MLB betting odds over the past decade. Last year’s third place finish in the AL West was decent for a squad that generally lingers in last place in the division MLB odds. But the 2009 MLB betting odds season is new opportunity to build on the team’s 79-win season from a year ago and make the MLB odds makers eat crow. MLB odds makers do not particularly like the team’s chances in the MLB betting odds this season. As always, the problem facing the Rangers’ roster is a lack of quality pitching to throw against its MLB odds opponents. The team’s ace Kevin Millwood is coming off a disappointing 9-10 season with a 5.07 ERA –the worst for any number pitcher in the MLB betting odds. And you know you’ve got problems when your expected pitching savior is Kris Benson, a player who hasn’t pitched since the 2006 MLB odds season.

The rest of the rotation is more of the same with Vincent Padilla the lone double-digit winner in the ’08 MLB odds competition with a 14-8 record despite a 4.74 ERA. Matt Harrison also showed signs of life with a 9-3 record in the ’08 MLB betting odds competition, but with an ERA of 5.49 the wins should go to his teammates at the MLB Odds Preview plate.

The Texas Rangers lineup is more than capable of putting up runs with several All Star batters in the MLB odds starting lineup. Last season Josh Hamilton had a break out season and impressed any MLB odds fan with his production and inspirational story. Although he trailed off in the second half of the MLB odds MLB Odds Preview season, he still finished with some gaudy stats (.304, 32 HR, 130 RBIs). He’ll have to have another monster season against MLB odds pitching to help cover up the loss of Milton Bradley in the lineup. Helping Hamilton carry the load will be fellow All-Star Ian Kinsler who also very impressive in the ’08 MLB odds competition batting .319 with 18 HRs and 102 runs.

But two men can hardly carry the lineup and there are quite a few holes in the Rangers MLB odds lineup. This team will score runs, but the pitching is more than likely going to be their MLB odds undoing. Third place in the AL West seems to be about right for this squad and as the only team it’s likely to beat in the MLB odds from its division ins the Seattle Mariners.
