NL East Division Preview for 2015. With the 2015 MLB Season getting underway as the opening day was on Monday the 6th of April with some 14 opening day games, and there also was 1 game on Easter Sunday between the Cardinals and the Cubs which the Cardinals won 3-0.
Thus, here we would like to preview the NL East Division for 2015 since we already reviewed the NL Central Division for 2015 previously. To start with the NL East appears that there is a Throne at the top of this League Division that has been occupied for the past three years by the Nationals of Washington, and in this 2015 season forthcoming again the Nationals are fielding a team that may be their best in recent times.
However, there are some other teams in this Division, that will not be left in the rear of the ranks, like the Marlins of Miami who recently signed their star player and added new re-enforcement players to their roster, and the Mets of New York is another team that has also added some stars to renew their team roster.
As we mentioned, the Nationals of Washington are the favorites and the experts say the Title in the NL East Division is theirs, and are expected to win that Title at -500 and at the same time are -650 favorites to take it all in the MLB 2015 World Series.
There are several reason that the Nationals of Washington are such big favorites, like they have an All-Star type roster at all positions, and they were 9th in runs, 8th for on base %, and 12th for batting average, and then came in 2nd in Earned Run average in 2014.
Leading the Nationals at hitting at the plate is their star D. Span who supports a .304 average and returns to add his power at home base. He is joined by J. Werth with a .396 on base percentage and always seems to get on base.
Their solid batting roster is supported by an incredible pitching staff, which can be very problematic for their opponents in this 2015 Season. Their so called crazy rotation consists of S. Strasburg with 3.13 ERA, D. Fister with 2.43 ERA and they now have former Tigers ACE M. Scherzer to round out the rotation. So the Nationals should have an exciting 2015 season.
The other team the experts are calling a sleeper this season is the Marlins of Miami and they expect that team to give the Nationals a lot of competition for this year’s NL East Title.
The Marlins roster has a star pitcher in H. Alvarez who finished 6th in 2014 in NL for ERA at 2.66, and he is supported by T. Koehler who last season carried a 3.83 ERA while striking out some 151 batters.
Apart from a strong pitching staff the Marlins are big at the plate with G. Stanton even after a serious facial injury in 2014; he still managed a personal season that to date was his best at the plate. He was second in the NL in Runs Batted in at 106, he scored some 89 times, then stole 13 bases in 2014 and hit some 37 home runs, his career record to date. Thus, the big story here is, will the Nationals at last live up to their fan expectations as in the past seasons, specifically 3 they have made it as far as the National League Divisional Series but no farther. This should be the year that they reap the fruit of the loom and come out the winner as they acquired a great free agent player/pitcher in Scherzer who makes their rotation even stronger. Now what they need is for all their players to remain healthy, as injuries in the past seasons have been there drawback.
The experts think the Nationals will win the National League East Title and surely make it to the National League Conference Series, and should do reasonably well.
