MLB Odds on Cardinals at Marlins

September 24th, 2020 Betting on MLB Baseball

MLB Odds on Cardinals at Marlins. The St. Louis Cardinals revisit South Beach for an extended stay compared with their last visit. It seems like even longer than the almost three months it’s been, but the Cards, as last year’s World Series Champs, played the first Baseball Betting game in Marlins Park on April 4th. St.Louis emerged victorious in that one 4-1. Tonight, they return to this half ballpark and half amusement park, for a three game set in Miami with the first pitch scheduled to be thrown at 7:10 ET.

The Cardinals hope to build on a three game winning streak entering this series. St. Louis enjoyed the weekend in Kansas City where they swept their intrastate rival, Royals, after losing two of three to them the weekend before. Not only did they win the three games, but they did it in convincing fashion scoring a total of 30 runs on 41 hits.

In the opening Sports Betting game against the Royals they matched a season’s best 17 hits in an 11-4 romp. On Saturday, they “settled” for 16 hits winning again 8-2. In the series finale they were actually out hit 14-8, but still outscored the Royals 11 runs to 8 in the only stat that matters in the end. St. Louis is 38-35 on the year, in third place of the NL Central, trailing the Pirates by a single game. They are 6-4 in their last 10 and 21-19 on the road.

On the other hand, the Marlins (34-38) are a game up on Philadelphia, but it is for last place in the NL East. Both teams have struggled thus far this year. Miami has also struggled a lot of late, going just 2-8 in their last 10 contests. They are two games below .500(18-20) at Marlins Park. They were just 2-15 going into Sunday before emerging with a 9-0 win. They dropped the first two games of the series to Toronto 12-5 and 7-1.

Tonight’s pitching probable’s are Cards right-hander Jake Westbrook who owns a 6-6 record and 3.83 ERA and another righty, Ricky Nolasco for the Marlins also at 6-6 but carrying an ERA of 5.16. Miami is a home “dog” at +$101, while St. Louis is favored at -$111. The over/under is 9 total runs on a $120/$100 moneyline.
