MLB Gambling – Top Lefties Collide in Boston

November 30th, 2010 Betting on MLB Baseball

An excellent matchup of left-handers should be fun to watch on Friday in MLB gambling as Toronto and Brett Cecil face Boston and Jon Lester.

The Blue Jays continue to play the role of spoiler in the American League and they are a tough team to handicap in baseball gambling.

MLB gambling odds at SBG Global are going to favor Boston since they are at home and since Lester is on the mound.  If you want to win some money then backing Lester at home is normally the way to go. He has been a money machine for gamblers at Fenway.  This game on Friday is a little scary though because Toronto can hit and because Cecil is tough.

Toronto starting pitcher Brett Cecil:  Cecil is one of those pitchers that you probably haven’t heard of but he has made people some money.  He is 9-6 this season with a 3.96 ERA. He had been rolling along with a 2.06 ERA over his last six starts before he was shelled last time out in Anaheim. There is a big plus for you if you back Boston in this game because Cecil has really been bad in his career against the Red Sox.  In 15 innings against Boston he is 0-3 with a 7.80 ERA.

Boston starting pitcher Jon Lester: – The Red Sox with Lester are almost always going to give you a chance to win your wager in baseball gambling.  Lester is simply a stud.  He is 13-7 on the season with a 2.80 ERA.  He has gone at least five innings in 25 straight starts. He has been almost unhittable in his last three starts as he has a 0.93 ERA but somehow he has a loss in those three starts with a 2-1 record. He has had some success vs. Toronto in his career going 6-3 with a 2.74 ERA.

Prediction:  You are going to have to lay money with Boston on Friday but Lester has been pretty reliable.  It also helps that before yesterday’s game, the Red Sox had won 14 of the last 20 vs. Toronto. The Red Sox took two of three at Boston earlier this month. The teams haven’t played at Fenway since May when Boston won two of three. It may be a little pricey but the Red Sox look like a very good bet on Friday night with Lester.
