MLB Betting on Giants vs. Nationals Game Analysis. Game one of what could turn out to be one of the premier Fourth of July series this year featuring the San Francisco Giants and Nationals begins tonight in Washington. What better setting than the nations capital over Independence Day to celebrate the national pastime.

And what better matchup than two first place teams with the top two records in the National League battling for east/west supremacy. San Francisco acquired their first place standing by sweeping the Los Angeles Dodgers in three games last week. Not only did they beat them, but they shut them out in all three as well. Then as an encore, Matt Bumgarner threw another scoreless, one hit gem to begin a four game set against yet another first place team, the Cincinnati Reds to end the week. Start your MLB Betting action on Yankees vs.  Rays game.

Cincy did come back in game two of the weekend series stopping the shutout streak early on as Matt Cain gave up a round tripper on the very first pitch of the game on Friday and the Reds went on to a 5-1 victory. On Saturday, the Giants could only manage one run again in a 2-1 defeat. They did, however rebound in the series finale on Sunday winning it 4-3 on an Angel Pagan double in the bottom of the ninth.

San Fran is 10 games above .500 (45-35) and lead the Dodgers by a game and a half. They are 7-3 in the last 10, and an even 19-19 away from McCovey Cove.

The Nationals(45-32) have led the NL East virtually all year. They are 5-5 over the past 10 contests and 20-14 in Nationals Park. Washington took 2 out of 3 in “Hotlanta” over the weekend in blistering heat equal to Atlanta’s nickname. They won the finale 8-4 on Sunday. Check the Sportsbook Odds for Yankees vs. Rays game.

Righthander, Tim “the freak” Lincecum (3-8,5.60ERA) may finally be finding his short stride and will take the mound for the Giants tonight. The Nationals will counter with another righty, Jordan Zimmerman who is 4-6 despite an impressive 2.77 ERA.

The Nationals have been installed as a home favorite at -$125, while the Giants are a +$115. The over/under is 7.5 total runs on a $110/$100 moneyline.
