Naturally, Soto became an instant fan favorite in his only season with the Yankees. The Bleacher Creatures loved him, and he loved them back. He partnered with Aaron Judge for one of the greatest one-two punches in history. Most important of all, he sent the Yankees to the World Series with a clutch home run in Game 5 of the ALCS. All along, his free agency loomed. Following three teams in three seasons is finally behind him. He now has a long-term home. The Mets won the MLB betting odds offseason by signing Soto away from their crosstown rivals

Miami Marlins SBG Team Overview
Previously, the Marlins went to the Offshore bookmaker postseason as the third wild-card team in 2023. They did it with 84 wins thanks to an unrepeatable 33-14 record in one-run games. GM Kim Ng was essentially forced out after the season. Also, POBO Peter Bendix was hired away from the Tampa Bay Rays to run baseball operations.
Since then, Bendix has embarked on a scorched-earth rebuild. Luis Arraez, Jake Burger, Jazz Chisholm Jr., Bryan De La Cruz, Jesús Luzardo, AJ Puk, Tanner Scott, and others have all been traded away. No reason to think Alcantara won’t be next.
It’s a shame the biggest question for the Marlins going into 2025 is “when will they trade their best player?” but such is the state of the franchise. Thus, they’ll challenge the Chicago White Sox and Rockies for the worst record in baseball. The farm system is improving (Bendix has traded for 13 of their top 30 prospects, per MLB Pipeline). However, the Marlins are two years away from being two years away. Trading Alcantara would be a bummer for the fan base. It’s also the smart baseball move.
New York Mets SBG Team Overview
Juan Soto is coming off his best season. Will that translate to enough wins to reach the postseason in a crowded NL?
Soto did his MVP candidacy no favors by selecting the league that Shohei Ohtani plays in. But if anyone is likely to post numbers so overwhelming that it makes the two-way legend an also-ran, it’s Soto. Soto has been close, finishing in the top 10 four times in the NL and third in his lone AL campaign.
Soto is entering his age-26 season. Thus, he’s still in the early part of his prime — and has a 160 OPS+ and an average of 34 homers, 132 walks and 106 runs over the past three seasons. Still, it doesn’t feel like Soto has hit his power ceiling yet. And if it does while hitting between Francisco Lindor and Pete Alonso, the results may be truly awe-inspiring.
Mike Piazza is the only Mets player with a 1.000 OPS (1.012 in 2000). Soto had a .989 OPS with the Yankees. But this year he went a little higher and beat Piazza’s mark. And with Soto on base so much in front of him, Pete Alonso also breaks his club record of 131 RBIs set in 2022.

In this situation, the Marlins are no match for the Mets who are too expensive on the MLB lines. Hence, instead of the moneyline, the run line makes the most sense with New York.
