MLB Betting Preview: Los Angeles Dodgers

November 30th, 2010 Betting on MLB Baseball

Description : MLB betting last season for the LA Dodgers can best be summed up in one word: Manny!

After struggling through the first half of the bet on MLB schedule despite having a talented roster, Manny Ramirez came over from the Boston Red Sox and righted the Dodgers wayward MLB betting ship.

The team not only captured the NL West but did some damage in the post season MLB betting as well. MLB betting competition could be much different this season if the team fails to re-sign Manny before the MLB betting gets into full swing. So far, Ramirez has refused several lucrative offers from the Dodgers and while the rest of the team is already playing in spring training games, Manny remains a free agent with the MLB betting season just weeks away. And even though Manny is just one player, his impact on the bet on MLB fortunes of this team can’t be underrated (see the 2008 MLB betting season).

But if Manny doesn’t sign there’s still might be enough talent on the squad to win the NL West MLB betting division once again. The team severely lacks power and has a tendency to get out scored by the MLB betting competition when Manny’s not in the lineup. That’s why it’s all but a certainty that a deal with Manny will get done. With out Ramirez in the MLB betting lineup this team has no players with over 20 HRs in the ’08 bet on MLB season.

Russell Martin, Matt Kemp and James Lonely are capable hitters but none strikes fear into opposing MLB betting pitchers nor will they be elected to the MLB betting All Star game any time soon. The best young player on the team is RF Andre Either who could one day blossom into one of the better MLB betting players at that position.

For the Dodgers, it can’t come soon enough as the team’s once strong MLB betting pitching staff has been depleted in the off-season. Chad Billingsly, a 16-game winner in the 2008 bet on MLB season, is the only premier pitcher left on the staff. Gone in MLB betting free agency are Brad Penny and Derek Lowe. The rest of the starting rotation is relatively inexperienced in MLB betting competition. The team’s number 2 and 3 starters combined for just 14 wins in the ’08 MLB betting season.

The Dodgers are another team that could suffer a major set back in the 2009 MLB betting scene. If Manny is signed and the young rotation steps up this team should be in the NL West MLB betting hunt. If not, it could be a very long second season for Joe Torre when the MLB betting begins.
