Chicago Cubs at Milwaukee on Friday, March 12, 2010

November 30th, 2010 Betting on MLB Baseball

Baseball bet has a Cactus League matchup between two rivals as the Milwaukee Brewers host the Chicago Cubs.

Each team is trying to figure out their pitching rotation heading into the regular season.  This baseball betting matchup is scheduled to be a split squad game.

Baseball bet has the Cubs with three solid starters but the number four and number five spots are open. Ted Lilly will get one of them but he is not going to be ready to start the regular season which means two spots are open right now.  Baseball bet has Sean Marshall, Jeff Samardzija and Tom Gorzelanny in the running for a spot along with Carlos Silva. Marshall gave up one run on two hits on Monday while Samardzija gave up one hit, hit a batter and walked one in his short stint while Gorzelanny gave up a two-run home run. Samardzija really wants to start this season in the rotation. "I’m not the same guy I was then or even last year," the right-hander said. "I’m a totally different pitcher. I like how I’m throwing now, I really do. I’m excited to get out there again and get the pitch count up and get deeper in a game." Gorzelanny also really wants to start. "Obviously, [starting] is my No. 1 goal," Gorzelanny said. "That’s what I was brought up being and what I’ve always wanted to be, and what I made my somewhat mark in this game is as a starter. That’s all I want to do. If it comes to it, whatever happens happens, as long as I’m part of the team." Gorzelanny and Marshall may have the edge because they are left-handed and the Cubs would like to have a lefty in the rotation this baseball betting season.

The Cubs will have to make a decision on which pitchers to put into the rotation this baseball bet year and which ones fit into the bullpen. "They all have good arms or they wouldn’t be here," manager Lou Piniella said. "They all have ability. You have to find out about the experience factor and how they respond. That’s why these Spring Training games are so important, and not only for us, but for a few of these guys. There are some spots here."  The bullpen is also a major issue for the Cubs this baseball bet exhibition season.   The only ones set appear to be closer Carlos Marmol and setup pitchers John Grabow and Esmailin Caridad.
