Bet on MLB – Boston Red Sox at Cleveland Indians

November 18th, 2020 Betting on MLB Baseball

Bet on MLB – Boston Red Sox at Cleveland Indians.  The Boston Red Sox will look to get their first win of the season on Tuesday and gamblers who bet on MLB at Sbg global are backing Boston.  The Red Sox were swept at Texas to open the season but they are favored in MLB betting at Cleveland.

Huge Start for Beckett
The Red Sox are counting on a big bounce back season from Josh Beckett.  It needs to start on Tuesday at Cleveland or there are going to be a lot of nervous people in Boston. The Red Sox first three starters got battered in Texas so Boston needs Beckett to prove last season was an aberration.  Beckett was 6-6 last year with a 5.78 ERA.  The Red Sox have done well recently with Beckett on the mound against Cleveland but in his career, Beckett is just 3-4 overall against the Indians with a 5.56 ERA.

Red Sox Favored
Boston is favored in Cleveland against the Indians. The price in MLB betting is almost -150.  That could be a little high considering Boston isn’t doing much right so far this season. New addition Adrian Gonzalez is off to a good start but Carl Crawford is not.  The offense wasn’t great against Texas and the pitching was even worse. Boston was outscored 26-11 by the Rangers.

Indians 1-2 on the Year
Cleveland has started 1-2 as they avoided a sweep on Sunday as they beat the White Sox 7-1. Josh Tomlin gets the ball on Tuesday for Cleveland. He was 7-5 last season but one of those losses was at Boston. He went seven innings at Boston and gave up four runs in a 7-2 loss.

Series
The Indians held their own last season against the Red Sox winning half of the eight meetings.  Each team won twice at home and twice on the road.  Looking at some of the numbers we find that the Red Sox are 1-6 in their last 7 vs. the American League Central. The Red Sox are 0-6 in their last 6 road games. The Red Sox are 3-7 in Beckett’s last 10 starts. The Indians are 5-1 in their last 6 home games vs. a right-handed starter. The Indians are 4-0 in Tomlin’s last 4 home starts.  Six of the last Boston games overall have gone over for gamblers who bet on MLB. The Under is 34-16-2 in the Indians last 52 home games.
