Battle of Chicago in Saturday MLB Betting

May 3rd, 2024 Betting on MLB Baseball

Battle of Chicago in Saturday MLB Betting. The Cubs and White Sox battle it out in Saturday MLB betting with Carlos Silva and Freddy Garcia scheduled to start. Both pitchers have been very good this season and are looking for their 9th win of the season.  The White Sox are the home team in this baseball betting matchup although in this series that hasn’t meant much.

MLB betting odds will be close on this game with the White Sox likely a small favorite since they are at home.  Silva has been very good for the Cubs though which gives them a chance to get the win on Saturday.  Silva is 8-2 this season with a 3.01 ERA.  Silva actually lost last time out but he still pitched well enough to win.  In fact, he has lost his last two decisions after winning his first eight.  He still has 10 quality starts on the Battle of Chicago season to lead the Cubs.

Garcia won his last time out against the Nationals and he now has eight wins on the season.  Garcia has been very good against the Cubs in his career going 4-0 in five starts with a 1.25 ERA.

The White Sox took two of three in MLB betting when the teams met a couple of weeks ago at Wrigley Field.  Two of those games were very low scoring as the Cubs won 1-0 while the White Sox won 2-1.  The other game was a 10-5 rout by the Sox.  The White Sox have actually won three of the last four at home against the Cubs.

The Cubs have not played well on the road this season so that is a concern in this game even with Silva on the mound.  The Cubs have gotten some decent pitching this Battle of Chicago season as they are 12th in the league in ERA. The Cubs have struggled to score though and they could have trouble in this game against Garcia and the Sox.

The White Sox have turned their season around in the last couple of weeks.  They were looking like a team that was done but a six-game road sweep of Pittsburgh and Washington in baseball betting put new life into the team.  The White Sox just need to start winning at home and they might get back into the playoff picture.
