The 50th season of the Kansas City Royals was supposed to be a celebration. Instead it has become cause for a revolt. The Royals have only one thing to play for. Minnesota was a popular baseball odds today choice to start the season. Last year they won 85 games. Wild card playoff status was theirs as well. 2018 has been a step back for the Twins. After winning a World Series in 2015 Glass has returned to his old ways. Once again KC is a penny pinching organization.

Right hander Jason Hammel is the scheduled KC starter. He is a hapless 2-11 with a 6.16 earned run average. Perhaps nobody else is more emblematic of today’s Royals. Right hander Aaron Slegers is slated to take the hill for Minnesota. He has a 2.38 ERA and 1-0 record. Slegers has pitched just 11 innings this year.
