Baseball Odds in AL East as Tight as They Come

November 30th, 2010 Betting on MLB Baseball

Baseball odds makers are paid to try and predict which teams will win and which teams will lose and set the baseball betting odds accordingly.

This is not an easy job and this in the AL East setting baseball odds has been all but impossible. With so much talent in one division any one of three teams has very good shot at winning the pennant and the baseball betting odds are as a result very tight.

Baseball odds fans are hardly surprised that among these three teams the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees are featured. Over the past decade these two teams have been arguably the most successful in the baseball odds. And they should be considering their huge payrolls and packed stadiums full of stark raving baseball betting odds fans. But there is almost no baseball odds fans that thought the Tampa Bay Rays would be among the division leaders in late July.

In fact, the Rays have been one of the worst franchises in all of sports –not just baseball odds- since their inception. With very little talent on the roster to start the season, the Rays have somehow transformed themselves into a baseball odds powerhouse with little more on paper than a strong number one pitcher. Be that as it may, the rest of the players have stepped out of Scott Kazmir’s shadow this season and helped to post a 58-41 record, the second best in the MLB baseball betting odds and hold off not only the world champion Red Sox but also the hard charging Yankees who are now just three games back. It has been without question the most remarkable feat in all of the baseball odds this year.

As such, the AL is going to boil down into the most interesting pennant race in the baseball odds. You can imagine, with the huge media markets in New York and Boston there will be plenty of coverage as well. Baseball odds makers will have their hands full if no teams steps up to grab the division lead. Right now New York is the hottest team on the planet and could make up some major ground in the baseball odds if the Rays or Sox slip up. However, that doesn’t seem likely as they have been among the most consistent teams in the baseball odds all season.

What seems more likely is that this baseball odds race will go down to the wire and provide plenty of drama for the fans.
