Baseball lines on Giants vs. Marlins

May 28, 2012 MLB Baseball

With a somewhat unusual Thursday opening series game in the books, the Giants and Marlins go at it again tonight in colorful and crazy Marlins Park in Miami. The first pitch is scheduled to be thrown at 7:10ET.

If you don’t think Marlins Park is crazy, tell me what other major (or minor) league ballpark has a giant aquarium embedded in the wall behind home plate. Enough said? Getting back to baseball and fish called Marlins, they were on the wrong end of a 14-7 blasting by San Francisco in the aforementioned series opener last night. Melky Cabrera and Angel Pagan combined for 8 runs batted in for the Giants. Cabrera’s were part of a three hit night, while Pagan had two. Pagan has hits in 33 of the 35 games he has appeared in this season. Start your Baseball Betting action on Giants vs. Marlins game.

On the losing side, Omar Infante had four hits and has been red hot the past week with an average of .483. Giancarlo Stanton had three hits of his own for Florida. The Marlins are 24-21 on the year, tied with the Mets for third place in the NL East and trailing second place Atlanta by 1 game in the loss column. They are 11-9 in South Beach.

The Giants have the same record as Miami, but are trailing the surprising Dodgers in the NL West by a full 6.5 games, 7 on the “L” side. They are 12-11 away from the bay. Tonight’s pitching probables are two fellows who have gotten off to slow starts as opposed to their career stats. Righthander Josh Johnson goes for the Marlins and while he has won his last two starts, he has a 2-3 won / loss mark and an earned run average of 4.82, entering tonights contest. Its another righty for the Giants in former all star Tim Lincecum, who, unlike Johnson, has had little success in his last two appearances and hopes to get back on track this evening. Lincecum is 2-4 with a 6.04 ERA. Miami is a home favorite at -$140 and San Francisco is a +$130. The over / under of 7 total runs is on a $115/$100 moneyline.
