Baseball Futures Favor Dodgers on Sunday vs. Tigers

November 30th, 2010 Betting on MLB Baseball

The Los Angeles Dodgers will be sad to hit the road as they have been playing great at home and getting wins for those wagering on baseball futures.

This game on Sunday against the Tigers in baseball betting will be the final game of a seven-game homestand for the Dodgers.

Baseball futures favor the Dodgers against the Tigers on Sunday as Hiroki Kuroda looks for his sixth win of the season.  Kuroda is 5-1 on the season with a 2.87 ERA. He was not great last time out against Houston but he still got the win as the Dodgers scored a lot of runs for him.

Rick Porcello gets the start for Detroit on Sunday. It has not been a good sophomore season for Porcello. He is 3-4 with a 5.93 ERA. He has alternated wins and losses in his last four starts vs. the baseball betting odds but only one of those starts was any good.  Porcello did go 3-0 last year in Interleague action last season with a 1.90 ERA in four starts.

Before this series began in baseball futures, the Dodgers had won five of the last nine against the Tigers.  The teams did not play last year but two years ago they met in Detroit and the Tigers won all three games.

The Tigers are hanging right with the Twins in the American League Central. Detroit is nothing special on the road though so winning at Los Angeles may be difficult.  The Tigers are just average in terms of hitting and pitching so they are doing well to be above .500 in baseball futures.  Detroit really needs Porcello to turn things around if they are to keep pace with the Twins this season.

Los Angeles has turned things around this month and it has been their pitching that has dramatically improved. The Dodgers were very poor early in the season but in the last couple of weeks everything has clicked.  Los Angeles is gradually moving up the rankings in terms of ERA. They still have a potent lineup as well even without Andre Ethier who was placed on the DL.  Eventually it would seem that the loss of Ethier would hurt the Dodgers but they do have a lot of hitting talent so perhaps they can survive for a while without him. They definitely can win games if their pitching continues as it has recently.
